The Left and Distraction: Pulling It All Apart


Well, yeah.  That would be distracting.

It got me to thinking (dangerous).  This is also a description of what the left has been doing to all our institutions for decades.  Leftists want to tear asunder our country by tearing apart each and every institution that made it work.  Recently, in the past decade or so, they have been succeeding in their, um, distraction.

Look at what they have torn apart.  It’s more than distracting; it’s staggering.

Our university system is a shadow of itself.  That was the plan: take over the university system, and make it in the image of their leftist heroes.  Make the youth of America believe insane things that aren’t true or helpful.  Deconstruct, and make them hate their own culture.

Wow, were they successful.

That education remake has gone farther, down into our K-12 public schools, and into many private schools as well.  Not as advanced there yet, but the daily pulling apart is doing its work.  Witness the recent “woke” teens from Florida’s shooting.

Our media.  Sean Hannity said it back in 2007: journalism is dead.  It always had bias, but it’s now become nothing more than a broadsheet for the far left, an instrument to pretend leftist propaganda is actual “news” that instructs us.  If you think of journalists as Democrats with bylines, you are correct, and that’s mainly what the American public needs to see.  It’s an institution torn apart.

Hollywood.  Movies used to have heroes who loved America and her underpinnings.  Sure, you had the occasional leftist screed, but more often than not, the silver screen once gave a hat tip to our institutions and way of life.  No more.  Gross violence, sleazy sex, all sorts of ugly corruption has invaded Hollywood.  It’s even in all their movies now!  Mission accomplished.

Our judicial system.  Look what the left has done.  This past year, it’s safe to say, has shown just how far the left has gone in destroying the judiciary.  Leftist judges with no pretense of adhering to the law now make insane proclamations from the bench on more than a weekly basis.  Reading what the laws actually say, any modicum of common sense tells you they are inserting their very own political and juvenile ideas for the rule of law.  They want it torn apart.  And they are getting close to their endgame of gumming up the works via judicial nullification.

Our government bureaucracies.  Sure, there are some employees who are still good.  But look at what happened at the IRS.  And the FBI.  The DOJ.  The EPA.  The left went into every one and, to one degree or another, tore them apart.

Corporate America.  Way too many SJW principles adhered to, while the business then loses market share, slowly tearing itself apart.  Look at the NFL, Delta Airlines, the Oscars – heck, even Olympic athletes.  As Glenn Reynolds likes to say, “get woke, go broke.”

Lord knows where the practices of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and all the leftist crazies that drive those companies are going to bring us.  Many are clueless, rich social outcasts who think the way to finally be cool is to join the left.  The scariest bunch of people inhabit these most powerful and wealthy companies.  They are using their power to obstruct free expression and the free exchange of ideas.  They are gutting their own companies and don’t know it.  And to think, their slogan was once “Don’t be evil.”  As if the left has never been evil.

This list is the tip of the iceberg. 

Jordan Peterson names these villains neo-Marxist postmodernists.  In one of his lectures, he describes university undergrads as floating down a river, holding onto the many pieces of their culture floating around them just to keep their heads up.  The university professoriate then proceeds to destroy, piece by piece, everything that keeps them above water.  Then it sends them into the middle of the ocean.  With nothing.

Peterson says, “And they [neo-Marxists] know exactly what they are doing.”

They are tearing apart our culture, tearing apart each institution one by one. 

Why?

So many reasons.  Power, mainly.  They can inhabit the chaos.  Like King Louis, l’état would be they.  Their love of controlling others would fulfill its dream with their ascension to undisputed royalty.  And like the Clintons, they would get rich having accomplished nothing good.  Most are simply ignorant.  They have no clue what they are doing, but it feels so good when they do it.  It brings them adulation and fame, the opposite sex likes them, and the ultimate aphrodisiac of power owned.

In that corruption, somewhere is a willingness to sacrifice an entire civilization, to tear apart each of our institutions one at a time, to cast an entire generation to the ocean without life rafts.  It’s a calculation they made.  Some may carry a few ideals of their past, but most cynically play-act their virtue for votes.  It’s a well practiced playbook.  The left willingly submits its values to be corrupted, in the hopes of getting people to vote for its candidates so they can aggrandize power.

In the case of their voters, they willingly submit themselves to believing that their leaders’ ideas are virtuous, and all the destruction is because the right won’t let them succeed.  It’s so hard for them to believe that their representatives would con them.  They simply will not open their eyes to the corruption of the Clintons and Obamas.

The brainwashing of the leftist voter may be the most injurious thing the left has done.  In the long run, if we cannot convince enough of them of the truth about their recent leadership, the left may finally win its long, hard fight to destroy the American culture it has come to hate so much.

What I have described has been happening for decades: purposeful undermining of our institutions to gain power.  They make up evil constructs about race, white privilege, business greed, degrading the traditional family, males, the Judeo/Christian impulse, sex.  The left is willingly all over this deconstruction.

To those of you who do not see this as a purposeful take-down of our culture for the aggrandizement of a limited few, for and by the leftist elite: Please wake up.

It’s happening.

To those on the left who will begin to see: Begin by leaving your party.  Rethink where you want to go, and please do so thoughtfully, and with eyes opened.  Realize that you live in a great country, with institutions that can help you thrive.

To those on the right who believe that this is all politics as usual and want to roll along with it: I urge you to think about what this means: “They know exactly what they are doing.”

Yes, it’s that sinister.  They have no shame.

To the Bush family, the NeverTrumps, and the rest of the phony right, please come to your senses, fight this cold civil war effectively with us, or just go away.

To those who see: Fight the good fight.  Press on.  Never give up; never, ever give up.  There are fine principles we can win on.  We can still be the last, best hope of mankind.  Freedom and real progress can prevail.  But it takes vigilance.  And time.  And developed character.  We are winning, and we will prevail.

Or we can continue to be distracted.

Recently, I heard a grisly description of the long-ago practice of torturing (often killing) people by strapping each leg and arm to a horse and then sending the horses in separate directions.  Tearing people asunder.  It sounds horrible.

The point of the speaker was to say this practice was called distraction, and it is the root meaning of that word.

Getting Home Again


Once there was a way

To get back homeward.

Once there was a way

To get back home.

Those lines are haunting – beautiful words with a melody stirring the emotions.  Melancholy, wishing for something that was so good in the past, and wanting it to be in the present again.  This was the last time The Beatles would record together.  The song may have a hint of what they shared together and what they wanted to continue with.

For some years, a big question for me has been, how do we put this divided society of ours back together again?  We have been embroiled in a massive cold civil war for decades now.  It’s on the verge of hot as the so-called media (Democrats with bylines), the Deep State, and the Democratic Party have tried to nullify an election for over a year.

It was an election that was calling America home.

That’s what “Make America Great Again” means.  Make no mistake about it: that’s the bottom line of Trump’s call.  Let’s bring America into the future by using those attributes and principles that made it great in the first place.

It’s the way to get back homeward.

We have watched as the left has gone way over the top in shrillness, in deceitfulness, in demagoguery, in simple hatred of their opponents.  These opponents apparently are still the majority of America.  Note that leftists hate us and what we stand for.  America as founded must be “transformed” or obliterated.  That’s what they want.  And if you disagree with them, you must be destroyed.  They’ve shown us that side for years now; the past year, it’s simply fully out in the open.  You can hear the insanity daily.  Joy Behar’s comment about Christians being mentally ill is the latest salvo in this war the left is ginning up. 

We do need to get back home, and there are multiple constructs needed to get there.  A few:

– The left, its failed and negative ideas, must be defeated and rolled back, replaced with commonsense ideas filled with life that really work to our good. 

– Those on the center-right who are inadvertently blocking the doorway home, such as Jeff Flake, John McCain, and the Bush family, must be held accountable for their collusion with the left’s failed negative ideas.

– On the center-right, we need to understand the stakes of this war.  Look at how close the left came to a monopoly on our political and social lives.  Had Hillary won, we would barely recognize home, let alone get back.  She would have removed the door.  If we lose this last glorious chance to come home, we’re just a few short steps away from the left putting a stranglehold on all the good things America has to offer.

– Most important, in the sea of turmoil we face, we need to act as if we are home.  We need to display and embody once again the character that made America great.  We cannot allow the left to take away those good things.  In spite of our so-called comedians’ and elites’ pronouncements, there is nothing more precious than holding goodness and character up as a beacon for what we are striving for.  It’s the way back home.

A wonderful story was quietly broadcast this past Sunday, resounding before and after because it is not new.  It’s a story about character that should be shared over and over.  An example of faithfulness and grit, by people involved in the world of sports, this saga has been one of the finer stories this year.  After reading about and watching this story, I realized it’s a tale of greatness, a landmark of who and what we can be. 

Sunday’s addition to the story was the last home basketball game for the senior known as Austin Hatch.  At the game, the seniors of the home team were honored, Austin among them.

Austin was once a blue-chip recruit out of an Indiana high school.  He had committed to a scholarship offer at his mom’s alma mater and hoped to be a college star, perhaps on his way to the NBA.  He had that much talent.

Just one week after his commitment, Austin Hatch was traveling with his family in their small plane.  It crashed, and his dad and his beloved step-mom both died in that tragedy.  Austin was in a coma for eight weeks, going from weighing well over two hundred pounds to one hundred forty.

He could no longer walk or even talk.  It took him a long time to regain just the capacity to exist, let alone regain the basis for a real life again.

John Belein is a fairly famous basketball coach.  He has a record of making his players and teams better, providing an environment for their character development.  He is known for it.  His story is remarkable.  He is one of the few you can say has dealt with the divisiveness, cheating, and corruption so prevalent in some college sports programs yet has remained squeaky-clean. Jiminy Cricket was barely this good.

Austin Hatch no longer had a father, but he was visited by his future coach many times as he struggled back.  He was there while Austin was in his coma, when he couldn’t walk or talk.  Coach Belein followed up with this orphan, becoming a parent and mentor.

He did all this with little fanfare.  It was done discreetly, away from the cameras.  He promised Austin he would hold his scholarship for him, and he left that promise as a carrot that helped keep Austin working during his physical rehabilitation.  When Austin was finally ready, he joined his university class as a scholarship player.

John Belein kept his promise. 

This was at a fairly steep price to his team.  There are only thirteen scholarships available to an NCAA division I basketball program to give out.  Most high-level schools turn away lesser athletes in hopes of getting better players.  John Belein gave away one of the few he had available for that class, because Austin needed a new family to support him.

By keeping his promise, he gave Austin the chance to regain his life.

Austin never was able to play the game he was so good at again.  He remarked once that his body would never let him do what his mind wanted it to.  He was given a few minutes of playing time at the end of five games.  His best statistic was scoring one point, one of three free throws.

One point for his basketball career.

And now his real career is just beginning, in life and in business.  He is graduating, has a job, and is getting married.  As he said recently, “Life’s good, man.”

A fine athlete in her own right, Abby Cole, his fiancée, has a Twitter feed where she has one pinned tweet.  It reads: “God’s love is transforming.”

They are planning to share that love with their lives.  These are the best of a new generation – living productive lives, hopefully to raise a family, making their culture better just by taking part in it.

At Sunday’s Senior Day, Austin thanked the fans, his teammates, and his coach.  Here is a quote from his short speech, about his mentor, Coach Belein: “They say the ultimate measure of a man is how he treats a man who could never repay him.”

There is some well earned praise.

Coach Belein helped this one fine person get back home.  He put one person on the path to being great again.  His intention was not political, but it’s the kind of personal story that is needed so desperately in this time of squalid leftist horror.  We need thousands and thousands of these kinds of stories to add up to the final promise of Making America Great Again.

While the left is busy politicizing the horrible shooting in Florida and demagoguing the Russia story for its own agenda, our best and most final answer is the many real stories like that of John Belein and Austin Hatch.  In the end, we live well, to our highest, or America can’t be great again.  It’s how we put it back together.

Recently, I bought a special gift: the music collection called Abbey Road by The Beatles.  Its second side has long been considered one of the best series of tracks in popular music.  It did not disappoint.  I must say, lots of their lyrics were simply off-the-wall crazy, but their music hits the mark.

Stuck on Stupid


A jab that has stood the test of time.  A phrase that I’m going to use to apply to first, the Democratic party.  Then to its vanguard, the so-called mainstream media.  And to it’s two so-called great families, the Clintons and the Obamas.

All:  Mired in, and stuck on, stupid.

It starts with the overwhelming self-generated conceit by the left that it’s smarter, better, and in all ways superior to the riff raff that surrounds it in the good old US of A.  Smarter than its opponents, morally superior to all, and simply outclassing all others.

They really believe that concept of superiority, particularly the incarnation that gave us Barack Obama.

That’s how they presented Barack Obama to us.  For all these years, despite a lot of evidence, in their eyes, Barack was the best.  Ever.  Smarter, morally superior, he couldn’t do less than ace everything he did.  He won the Nobel Peace Prize, he gave the best speeches, he outclassed everyone he touched.

Except he didn’t.

Try this as often as you want:  Ask an Obama supporter for three things he accomplished in his life that would make him a qualified and good president of the most powerful nation on earth.  Then ask for one.

There never was an answer to that question.  You’ll get crickets.

And unfortunately, no one stood up and pointed out the obvious.  That the emperor had no clothes.

Apologies to Sarah Palin.  She tried.  Her comment, “I guess a small-town mayor is sort of a community organizer.  Except you have actual responsibilities.”  Perfect in 20/20 hindsight.

They should have known they had a problem on their hands when she couldn’t beat Bernie Sanders in any of the early primaries.  The man was a full bore, advertised socialist with the platform of Hugo Chavez.  He was 73, looked like it, acted like it, and the majority of Democratic party primary voters supported him.  Their voters were with him, not her.   It was the hint of hints that she couldn’t pull it off.

So, rather than realize she was a bad candidate,  they took Bernie out.  With the DNC, they took him out.  Superdelegates.  It was rigged.  And they did it in plain sight.

Hillary was perhaps worse, a dull candidate with tons of baggage, no real accomplishments, her voice was awful, and she did not look good.  And she was tired, and didn’t do the work to present herself to the American public as worthy.  And yet they picked her as the heiress apparent.  It worked with Barrack, why wouldn’t it work with her? 

The smartest people in the world forgot an Alinsky rule.  Never let your con grow stale (my version of Alinsky rule # 7´”A tactic that drags on too long becomes a drag.” )  They got stuck on stupid.

And it got worse.  They developed this strategy of using their opposition research as FBI and DOJ “intel” to inject what they wanted into the body politic to take down the political foe who had the temerity to challenge them.  They fed it to their media friends.  Who dispersed it.

They put together the Steele dossier.  They were going to use it to destroy their opponent.  It would be easy.

Let me say something here.  How in the world could they have read what they paid some ten million dollars for? 17 memos from Steele that were laughably stupid.  Wasn’t one of them capable of seeing how stupid that dossier looked?  Just one?

Apparently not.

Because all the evidence shows they used that totally made up “dossier”  to start spying on every Trump association possible.  They actually went to the FISA court and presented this, as James Comey apparently called it, “salacious and unverified dossier” as proof for a warrant to spy on most of the Trump inner circle. 

Was the FISA judge asleep?

Was the rest of the FBI on the seventh floor that unaware?  No, they got stuck on stupid.

That phrase comes from a press conference with General Russell Honore back in 2005.   It was a jab at the media for being mired in the past.

A well-placed jab.  One that is unforgettable.

A jab that has stood the test of time.  A phrase that I’m going to use to apply to first, the Democratic party.  Then to its vanguard, the so-called mainstream media.  And to it’s two so-called great families, the Clintons and the Obamas.

All:  Mired in, and stuck on, stupid.

It starts with the overwhelming self-generated conceit by the left that it’s smarter, better, and in all ways superior to the riff raff that surrounds it in the good old US of A.  Smarter than its opponents, morally superior to all, and simply outclassing all others.

That’s how they presented Barack Obama to us.  For all these years, despite a lot of evidence, in their eyes, Barack was the best.  Ever.  Smarter, morally superior, he couldn’t do less than ace everything he did.  He won the Nobel Peace Prize, he gave the best speeches, he outclassed everyone he touched.

Except he didn’t.

Try this as often as you want:  Ask an Obama supporter for three things he accomplished in his life that would make him a qualified and good president of the most powerful nation on earth.  Then ask for one.

There never was an answer to that question.  You’ll get crickets.

And unfortunately, no one stood up and pointed out the obvious.  That the emperor had no clothes.

Cosa Sinistra: The Left as Crime Family


Literally.  Fully.  And seriously.

Let’s look at a few shades of leftist criminality.  I don’t mean the common finger-pointing, where leftists claim that anything done by the center-right is “criminal.”  Like being for tax cuts.  Being pro-life.  Or against illegal immigration.  Voting for Trump was criminal.  The left thinks anyone to its right is criminal.

But most sane people know that’s not true.  It’s hyperbole for the sake of cowing those who hold differing opinions.  It’s a political smear writ large – and, might I say, projection.  Leftist often accuse others of doing what they do.  Not only does it help them feel better about themselves, but it’s a strategy to gain and hold power over others. 

In itself, that mindset isn’t essentially criminal.  Maybe you could say it’s a shade of gray or misdemeanor.  But therein lies the first step on the road to where they ended up.  They begin by stepping across a line, and they wake up fully criminal.  Let’s follow the path downward.

The early Clinton escapades weren’t the outcome of being Boy Scouts.  Using political influence to do a land deal in Arkansas, or to gain $100,000 in the commodity market for being the governor’s wife, was a pretty good sign of who they are – as were Bill’s early sexual predations and Hillary’s early persecution of the women he used.

The thuggishness of Barack was clear early on.  There was his land deal, wherein he enriched himself with Tony Rezko in Chicago.  All his political wins came by nefariously taking out his political opponents rather than beating them fairly in the arena of ideas.  Everyone should have known.

They all got away with their less than honest early deals but were awarded more power as a result of their nefarious actions.  The left loved their ability to lie as they skated through the finish line unscathed. 

The next big step up the ladder for the Clintons was becoming president.  Posing as the married version of Jimmy Stewart playing Mr. Smith, they simply dug into the seediest side of politics.  Having succeeded in the small pay-to-play of Arkansas, they let it all loose on Washington, D.C. 

The Clintons were the ones to begin the full politicization of the DOJ.  Remember when they fired every single attorney at the DOJ, replacing them with their own loyalists?  That was 1993.  Our cheerleading leftist media said nothing.  After all, they were kindred souls staying silent in the face of shared corruption.  Then there was the matter of the famous FBI files the Clintons pilfered, the secret files that illegally gave them dirt (and leverage) on their political opponents.  Yeah, Bill, “a bureaucratic snafu.”  And no, that’s not what it was.  It was simply aggrandizement of criminal power.

They would go on to trading secrets of rocket technology to the Chinese for political donations – a deal that would advance Chinese missile capacity twenty years overnight.  I remember Tim Russert pleading on Meet the Press” for the media to start reporting because “this was really happening.”  Well, they got away with that, too – along with a host of other illegal and nasty activities.

Barack had his share of shady dealings once he hit D.C., but was a bit more circumspect in hiding what he was doing.  Nurtured under the Chicago political machine, the master school of pay-to-play politics, everyone should have known the kind of corrupt monster he was.  Instead, he convinced boatloads of people, and a gullible, like-minded media, that he was some kind of light-worker who healed the Earth.

Under that guise, he was scorching the earth. 

He began his funneling of money to leftist causes right away with his “stimulus package,” stimulating and filling the coffers of his pay-to-playmates.  Many of his bundlers simply took money, as they did in the Solydra solar deal, absconding with millions of dollars and producing nothing.  His union leaders scored tons of money.  As the rest of the U.S. floundered, his already well heeled donors were paid handsomely from this illicit mess.  To this day, we don’t know where most of that money went.  Uncle Joe Biden just turned a blind eye.  And no one suffered for his ugly, illegal collusion to steal from the public trough.

Contrary to media and Democratic Parry claims, St. Barack didn’t have a scandal-free presidency.  Far from it – most of it was nothing but scandal, unreported by the fawning press.  It was a time period where the media refused to call out the obvious and many scandals for what they were.  Let’s just say they were kindred souls, fellow travelers, the media and St. Barack.  Friends and bundlers receiving money for nothing.

Fast and Furious.  The IRS targeting.  The weaponizing of the bureaucracies.  Just to name a few.  Heck, if a leftist political fact-check site calls your Obamacare lie the “lie of the year,” it had to be the lie of the century.

Make no mistake: the Clinton-Obama axis was criminal already, pay-to-play was their M.O., and they had gotten away with it for years.

Let’s fast-forward to the heavy stuff.  And this is the stuff that is darkly criminal, no shades of gray here.

The Clinton Foundation.  Clearly, they enriched themselves with pay-to-play schemes.  The reports of Hillary’s dealings as secretary of state with those who paid the Clinton Foundation are legion.  Documents upon documents introducing themselves to Madame Secretary were earmarked by a staffer “FOB.”  This was the sign of favor, the way to get to see her, the way to get favors in return.  You had to be a donor.  FOB, indeed.

Uranium One, the Mother of All Scandals, is typical.  This was a matter of one hundred fifty million dollars, mysteriously donated by Russian interests, who benefited after all the parties in the U.S. government signed off.  Bill’s speaking fees in Moscow were Over 600K per speech – double his normal pay-to-play fee.  

The Trump Dossier.  Paid for by the Hillary campaign.  Used as a pretense to spy on the Trump campaign.  Used as a pretense for the so-called collusion case. 

All of this is deeply criminal – nor gray, lacking even the slightest hint of another explanation.  And we now know that all these cases are being investigated and have been for months.  We now know there are four separate criminal cases being investigated with Clinton involvement.

St. Barack?  He’s been having a great time partying with the Hollywood moguls, all the while thinking his breee-illiant “insurance” plan to get rid of Trump was on. 

A funny thing happened on the way to the forum: all his fellow travelers are being outed.  The cadre of FBI agents and DOJ political partisans: Strzok, McCabe, Ohr, Comey, Brennan, and so many others are being outed for their own forms of, yes, criminality.  Helping with the phony Steele Trump dossier while you are high up at the FBI or DOJ is criminal.  Going to the FISA courts to unmask Trump campaign associates based on the dossier is criminal.  Turning over that information to other higher-ups in the Obama administration – that’s criminal.  This is the kind of thing that happens in totalitarian regimes.

For all those who have been asking where Jeff Sessions has been, let me say he’s been thankfully quiet.  He’s gotten a lot of ill deserved negativity.  But he’s a busy man.  As you can see, so many investigations, so little time.  Likewise, the Republican investigating committees are now doing their part.  And Judicial Watch.  God bless them all.

I’m calling it the year of the sting.  The chickens are coming home to roost.  Most of these people are going to jail.  They committed criminal acts.

I’m calling it the year of the sting.  The chickens are coming home to roost.  Most of these people are going to jail.  They committed criminal acts.

It took four years to dot the Is and cross the Ts to put away John Gotti.  It may take that long again, but it’s happening, and happening as I write.  As we sit here, the Democrats are suddenly running from the Trump dossier.  They’re all spinning with flushed faces, trying to excuse (or more often ignore) the criminality of their heroes.  The evidence is accumulating.  They are beginning to whine about a “political investigation.”  To all of you leftists who will be running away, it’s not political; it was actually criminal.  And you let it happen with your dewy-eyed worship.  As you pointed fingers, criminality was being done by your side.

We don’t know a lot of the details, but the greatest political sting in history is ongoing.  It’s been dripping out for over a month and will continue to do so.  It’s going to be epic.  And it will devastate the Democratic Party and its base.

But America will rejoice.  Criminals are going to be brought to their knees.

A Time for War: The Battle for Christmas


I know what you’re thinking: what an awful thing to talk about during the Christmas season.  We should be ignoring politics and celebrating all those good things we believe should be conserved.

I agree with that.  Unfortunately, the left does not.  Leftists never stop politicizing (and ruining) anything they can.  It wasn’t me, nor Trump, who started the politicization of Christmas; it was the left, and decades ago.  Up until now, the left has been winning this battle of Christmas, or should I say the battle for Christmas.  Christmas has been politicized.

As usual, the left started this battle by complaining.  Why not?  After all, “Merry Christmas” was offensive to some, therefore it should not be used.  Leftists started this mantra long ago and have transformed us to a nation of “Happy Holidays.”  They started this when virtually 90% of America’s population self-identified as Christian.  Back then, close to one hundred per cent of the U.S. population used the phrase.  Hollywood made lots of sappy movies about Christmas.  My parents were atheists.  They said Merry Christmas to everyone.

And then the Grinches of the left went to work.

With shameless zeal, they bludgeoned a huge percentage of Americans into not saying it.  Or being somewhat ashamed to say it – even though everyone with half a brain knows this holiday time is, you know, about the day called Christmas.  Heck, my Jewish girlfriend from long ago knew that and was not offended in the slightest.

Nor was anyone I met or had heard of.

Fast-forward to today.  Oftentimes, friends and even strangers wish me well this time of year, blurting out “Happy Holidays” to me as we part.  It’s clear most would have said “merry Christmas” but were embarrassed or shamed into not doing so.  The left has been winning with their guilt shaming method for a long time.

Maybe this sounds like a silly issue to you.  Trust me: it’s not.  Leftists are really dedicated to this battle.  They know it’s not inconsequential.  When your ideological opponents know there is an issue to fight for, you should stand up and take note.

I see this battle as at the heart of the left’s war on our Judeo-Christian values.  This battle to make us ashamed of saying an obvious and genuinely non-offensive phrase (except to a few Grinches) is a way of making us spite our own faces.  It’s a trademark for the atheist left: they force false shame down our throats like the good totalitarians they are.  Clucking at just how unfair and offensive it must all be at first, they then bring any town, school, or organization to court, demanding compliance.  Like Scrooge before redemption, they silently say, Bah, humbug.  You can have only holiday or winter concerts in school, where you sing only about Frosty.  It’s a part of the politically correct linguistics the left wants us to use.  

Happy holidays.  Blah, and meh.  Most advertisers use it.  The corporate world uses it.  Stores selling Christmas gifts use it.  And it’s an awful phrase.  A P.C. whitewash at best.  It has worked.

Until now.

One of Donald Trump’s musings on the campaign trail was his seemingly offhand comments about how we need to say “merry Christmas” to each other again.  No happy holiday crap for him.  At his latest rally in Pensacola, he made a point to remind the audience that it is Christmastime.  There were signs all over the arena proclaiming just that.  Merry Christmas.  Trump himself tweeted “Merry Christmas” to Pensacola after the rally.  He has made it a point to emphasize a traditional Christmas at the White House.  Festive.  And celebratory.

It’s notable that Trump picks his cultural battles.  Example: The battle with the kneeling, anthem-disrespecting NFL payers, some of its owners, and its clueless rich commissioner.  And Trump has clearly picked this one.  Merry Christmas is making the same inroads with America as his feud with the NFL.  He is fighting for Christmas.  It’s a fight he wants, perhaps a small one, but it’s not inconsequential.  It’s one that he knows can be used to show a much bigger point to us all.

Christmas.

It’s the great celebration of the West and has been since the Christian West has been in existence.

Who doesn’t know about Charles Dickens’s A Christmas Carol, Tiny Tim, and “God bless us every one!”  The left would have you believe that’s too white and racist.

Who doesn’t enjoy the choruses of Handel from “The Messiah”?  Heck, most hard rockers I know love the Hallelujah Chorus.

For the Lord God omnipotent reigneth

And He shall reign for ever and ever.

Christmas celebrates the birth of Jesus.  Born to a common family, in a remote part of the powerful Roman Empire.  A nothing event that would become the symbol of hope, salvation, and a bedrock of the goodness underpinning Western civilization and humanity.  A civilization the left has decided must be destroyed.  And hated.

So yes, this is a battle.

I love that Trump suggests we should to be able to say merry Christmas without apology.  It’s a good thing to say in and of itself, while it frosts most of the left.  It’s a simple proclamation of a wonderful celebration.  Saying it without hesitation, reservation, or the slightest hint of shame is an act of courage and goodness.

Orwell said it this way: “In a time of universal deceit – telling the truth is a revolutionary act.”  This is such a time.  “Merry Christmas” is simply proclaiming a number of truths with two words.

For a couple of decades, I have made it a point to reply, “Merry Christmas” when someone says, “Happy holidays.”

The journey of a thousand miles starts with one step.

For this Christmas season, be bold.  Spread Christmas cheer.  It’s a magical time.  It’s what makes the movie It’s a Wonderful Life wonderful.  We give presents because it shows love and sacrifice.  We have parties and family get-togethers filled with warmth and forgiveness toward one another.  Heck, last week I was singing real Christmas carols with a bunch of neighbors who have drunk the Kool-Aid of the left.  I loved wishing them a very merry Christmas.

I know there are a number of agnostics and atheists who share my political views on the center-right.  To you, let me say I’m glad most of you don’t mind hearing “Merry Christmas.”  It’s not a deal-breaker for you.  I only wish you could spread that kind of common sense to those Grinches on the left.

How we proceed is simple.  Live the season to the full.  Simply celebrate Christmas.  Share with friends and family.  And strangers.  Celebrating Christmas unabashedly, with joy, with love, with truth and charity, and celebrating the wonderful things we have.  There is nothing better.  It’s a tradition worth conserving.

For unto us a Child is born,

Unto us a Son is given;

And the government will be upon His shoulder.

And His name will be called

Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,

A Time for War: Deep State's Strike and Trump's Counter-Strike


“All warfare is based on deception.”

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the results of a hundred battles.”

Today’s cold civil war has seen a series of strikes by the left on the presidency of Donald Trump.  The overwhelming wave of negativity toward him, as reported constantly by the old media, and the onslaught of wailing by the leftist Democratic Party, et al. have been a major part of life in the United States since November 9, 2016.

The strikes have been intensified by what is called “the Deep State,” meaning the D.C. bureaucracy and the powerful government agencies of the DOJ and the FBI.  Seeming chaos has reigned as leak after leak came out trying to damage the Trump administration.  What appeared to be damaging strikes were launched by the Democrat-media-Deep State complex.  The whole of Washington, D.C., along with the media, has never relented, going on a binge of hate-filled rhetoric and actions.  They are trying to convince an unwitting public that Trump is nothing but horrible news.

Thank goodness for the center-right new media.  Much of the truth about the Trump presidency has been getting out over the heads of the well organized leftist intent to cause chaos.

The counter-strikes from Trump have been less than obvious.  This brings us to that first precept: deception.  Many things are being hidden, some hidden in plain sight.

In plain sight, Trump is working to do what he said he would do during the campaign.  He and his administration have been persistent in pressing forward with this agenda.  On steroids.  At the speed of Trump.  There are even a few stray leftists who realize his accomplishments and are coming to the recognition that he’s winning.

While these folks have been busy dehumanizing Trump and swearing allegiance to the dumbest political narratives ever – Trump-Russia.  Trump-inhuman.  Trump-stupid.  Trump-incompetent – he’s been working at undoing the damage done by the Obama-Clinton cabal at a speed that has surprised even them.

I’ve mentioned the accomplishments many times.  They are legion.

But wait, there’s something stirring.  It’s the deep and quiet things we are seeing revealed now.

Trump knows his enemy.  And fortuitously, the left thinks he’s stupid.  Leftists have no clue he sees them for what they are.  Blockbuster revelations are now seeping up through the ooze of the swamp.  There is a set of facts and circumstances that show us that Trump now holds the high ground, that he has dug into strong positions, and that bombshell after bombshell is about to go off against the left.

This began with Trump’s tweet about being “wiretapped” – which, dear leftist media, was not literal.  It got the point across.  Look what has come out since.  Drip by drip, the horrifying truth of what the Obama-Clinton cabal did to our DOJ, our FBI, and virtually everything they touched has been coming out.  They unmasked citizens unlawfully.  They colluded with the FBI and DOJ to work against the campaign of the opposition party.  They politicized intel.  They politicized everything they touched in the most despicable way.

Now we know there was an organized, political cabal at the FBI that worked against Trump not only during the campaign, but ever since.  It’s been known that the Mueller team was filled with Democrat partisans since they were appointed.  Charles McCullough, an Obama-appointed inspector general and head of the counter-intelligence division, was threatened for blowing the whistle on the Hillary server.  McCullough oversaw the intelligence community and was clearly upset with many of the wrongs being done.  There is an ongoing report by the inspector general about to come out concerning the politicization of the Justice Department in the next weeks.  It’s supposed to be thorough, damning, and a shocker.

Other revelations: Hillary’s campaign paid for the “Russian dossier.”  The FBI appears to have helped.  The FBI appears to have used it with the FISA court to start their “Trump-Russia” investigation and as a means to spy on Trump’s campaign.

We are seeing the picture come together – an unprecedented and ugly one.  Look at how many of these have been outed as wrongdoers in the past months.  McCabe.  Strzok.  Yates.  Lynch.  Comey.  Ohrs.  All toast.

The drips are on the verge of becoming a torrent.  And if the I.G. report is the blockbuster being touted, it will become a raging flood.  Suddenly, the Democrats are complaining about the text messages of Strzok being leaked.  And they were leaked from the I.G.’s office.  Suddenly, they are getting worried about the I.G. report.  With the FBI flatly refusing to release records to the House Oversight Committee, the I.G. office is now saying it has them and will release them.

And there is the real possibility that Mueller may not be going after Trump or process crimes (hat tip to Larry Schweiker).

So what is he going after?  We still don’t know. But Manafort was indicted for his work with the Podesta Brothers back in 2012, not with Trump.  Interesting that we haven’t heard from Tony Podesta in a long, long time.  The Flynn plea deal also has nothing to do with Trump-Russia, as was so poorly reported.  We have little to go on, because the mainstream media want it so badly to be about Trump-Russia that they’ve reported that as fact.  But it isn’t.  Say what you will, but Flynn is not stupid.  He knows more about this mess of counter-intelligence than anyone.  We know he despises the Obama-Clinton cabal, and we know he is a Trump-supporter, so something isn’t clear about his part.

Facts known:

Trump met with Mueller the day before Mueller was appointed as special counsel.

Trump learned about the “wiretapping” from someone who knew.

Trump not only saw the leaks, but vowed to stop them.

Trump understood quickly how much he has threatened “the swamp.”

Trump has always been proactive, thinking outside the box.

Trump understands stealth and surprise, while he appears to let it all hang out.

We can surmise:

Trump made a plan, because he understood his enemy.

Trump knew the entire scheme and who the bad actors were.

Trump knows his enemy’s weakness: they’re the smartest people ever.  Ever.

His enemies believed they will always get away with it, because they’re so smart.

Trump planned this counterstrike.  Quietly.  Take it to the bank.

What’s the evidence?

The recent outing of all the FBI “political” operatives.

The recent dribs and drabs about the I.G. investigation.

The sudden knowledge that some of Mueller’s staff were fired.

The new information about the Deep State’s unmasking plans and how they did it.

The revelations of Charles McCullough.

The knowledge that the Russia dossier was paid for by Hillary’s campaign.

The knowledge that the FBI interfaced with the inventor of the dossier.

The implication that the dossier was used to fool the FISA courts by the FBI.

The recent recusal of a FISA judge.

Rumors of reopening the case against Hillary; also the Uranium One scandal.

The scenario is of a horribly politicized, lawless operation within the FBI and DOJ, tied to the Obama-Clinton cabal.  It’s bad actors doing unthinkable, unprecedented, and horrid things.  This is far beyond Watergate.  It’s the worst political scandal we’ve ever seen, and it’s about to blow.

All these rumblings are the “opportunities to be seized” from Sun Tzu.  It’s been noted that so much is leaking out about all this, there must be a plan to slowly make the public aware of just how big the train is around the corner.  We can all hear it coming now.

Ladies and gentlemen, the fan is about to be hit.  Operation Counter-Strike.  Deceptive.  Yet right in front of us all.  The trap is sprung.  The Hessians were drunk on their own self-righteousness and sleeping while the battle crept up on them.  Planned by an orange oaf.

The history of war is filled with examples of effective strikes that were surprise attacks.  George Washington crossing the Delaware River to rout the Hessians on Christmas night is one example.  No one expected it.  D-Day itself was a huge surprise.  Hitler was looking at other areas while the allies stormed Normandy.

One of the world’s famous books is The Art of War by Sun Tzu.  It summarizes stealth and what is necessary to win wars.

Trump understands stealth and surprise, while he appears to let it all hang out.

We can surmise:

Trump made a plan, because he understood his enemy.

Trump knew the entire scheme and who the bad actors were.

Trump knows his enemy’s weakness: they’re the smartest people ever.  Ever.

His enemies believed they will always get away with it, because they’re so smart.

Trump planned this counterstrike.  Quietly.  Take it to the bank.

What’s the evidence?

The recent outing of all the FBI “political” operatives.

The recent dribs and drabs about the I.G. investigation.

The sudden knowledge that some of Mueller’s staff were fired.

The new information about the Deep State’s unmasking plans and how they did it.

The revelations of Charles McCullough.

The knowledge that the Russia dossier was paid for by Hillary’s campaign.

The knowledge that the FBI interfaced with the inventor of the dossier.

The implication that the dossier was used to fool the FISA courts by the FBI.

The recent recusal of a FISA judge.

Rumors of reopening the case against Hillary; also the Uranium One scandal.

The scenario is of a horribly politicized, lawless operation within the FBI and DOJ, tied to the Obama-Clinton cabal.  It’s bad actors doing unthinkable, unprecedented, and horrid things.  This is far beyond Watergate.  It’s the worst political scandal we’ve ever seen, and it’s about to blow.

All these rumblings are the “opportunities to be seized” from Sun Tzu.  It’s been noted that so much is leaking out about all this, there must be a plan to slowly make the public aware of just how big the train is around the corner.  We can all hear it coming now.

Ladies and gentlemen, the fan is about to be hit.  Operation Counter-Strike.  Deceptive.  Yet right in front of us all.  The trap is sprung.  The Hessians were drunk on their own self-righteousness and sleeping while the battle crept up on them.  Planned by an orange oaf.

A Time for War: The Gathering Storm


Most everyone entrenched on both sides of this cold civil war feels it coming.  The thunder and lightning have been getting closer.   For the better part of a year, we’ve been listening to the noise getting louder, and the flashes, good Lord, sometimes they get brighter by the minute.   Many think the storm started on Nov. 9, 2016.  Whichever, we all feel it.

This past weekend was a perfect example.  Brian Ross starts a series of false reports, so bad that the stock market dives, the leftist media breathlessly reports that President Trump is finished, and do their version of a happy dance.  Except, the report was not true, the networks once again proved to be unworthy sources of news, just repeating a false narrative.  

Then the tax plan surprisingly passed the Senate.   The left, as usual, had a collective hissy fit, droning on about how lost we are as a country.  Oh, the horror!  Tax cuts!!  We’re doomed!!!  Doomed they say!!!!  For the first time in decades the Democratic Party is pretending to be concerned about our debt. 

Yes, the storm is close.  Special Counsel Robert Mueller has a new scalp; General Michael Flynn pleads guilty of lying to the FBI.   The story has been reported quite poorly, very few understand what Flynn actually cut a deal for.  There are various theories, but let me say this:  All is not as it seems.   We won’t likely know until next year at earliest what is actually going on.  Andrew McCarthy’s article in National Review last week explained things as well as possible, but truth be known, very little is anything but fog right now.  The fog of war.

Storms.  Good metaphors for this time we are immersed in.   And for one long year, and the year before that, we have been overwhelmed by the left’s attempts to call down the storm on our heads.    They have collectively decided they are the weather experts, the forecasters, and the originators of storms.  They think they can say anything they want, say any particular detail is what they want it to be, and unbelievably think they control the news of storms, along with the storms themselves.  They have thought they could generate a storm intense enough, long enough, and do so with unlimited power to continue like this as long as they want.  And yes, “they,” is the leftist-controlled Democrat/media complex/Deep State.  Their sense of entitlement, their arrogance, their terrible lack of character, and their firm belief in their self-righteous right to “resist” has served them, and most of us, poorly, for years.

From what I see, with all of this whipped up frenzied fear from our storm front leftists (oh, they’re not going to like that phrase), there is not much of a dent in their target.  No, Donald Trump has not been touched.  As a matter of fact, it’s pretty clear he’s winning.  So much is going well.   I want to explain something the left does not understand.    Trump knows the storm.  Trump welcomes the storm.  Trump uses the storm.

Let me digress before coming back to that.  If you had told me the list of what he’s accomplished in his first year, two years ago, I would have said you were delusional.    If you had told me the left would have become totally unhinged, to the point where they make fools of themselves daily, spinning furiously about how Vladimir Putin controls Trump, I would have said you were daft.   If you had told me the left would never accept their loss, I would have laughed. 

If you had told me we would already be experiencing 3%+ growth, close to 25% increase in the stock market, that we’d be out of the Paris Climate Accords, becoming energy independent, had a great replacement for former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia while remaking the judiciary, getting tax cuts, voting out the Obamacare mandate, remaking the Middle East, that China would help us with Rocket Man, that illegal immigration would be cut by 75% to the lowest level in some 42 years (and that  without the wall), that Trump would have driven the media to commit institutional  suicide daily, all the while the left pulls its hair out on an hourly basis, I would have said you’re a little torched.  Trust me, this is almost miraculous.

Because this has all been accomplished in the midst of the biggest political maelstrom most of us have witnessed.  Nothing is comparable. 

My question to everyone is, how in the hell is Trump doing this?  How has he made so much happen, how has he accomplished all this (and more) while being simultaneously resisted by the left, some in his own party, and the entrenched bureaucracy and power we call the Deep State?

This is not a digression, so please follow if you would.

The art of building is an underestimated skill.   It requires a combination of deep intelligence, blue collar toughness, a mind capable of great focus and flexibility.   Walking onto a construction site is like walking into a washing machine.  Everything is moving; machines, people, tools, and lots of noise.  Lots of noise.  All being driven to a finish line of time, money, and hopefully the integrity of a job that will endure.  It’s the Wild West of being in business, and you’d better be prepared to live your life in a storm that doesn’t stop until each project is complete.  After which you are fired.  Well, not really, but you are terminated with your final payment, and if you’re good, you get to start another job all over again because you won a bid against other companies that want the same job.   The storm never ends.

Perhaps you think I’m exaggerating here, that every business is hard.  Before saying that, visit a construction site, any site, while it’s at work, and you’ll experience what I’m saying.  People barking instructions, moving materials, mini assembly lines, watching multiple groups working in different cycles toward a finished project.  You may have heard the saying “tornado in a junk yard”.  Well, that’s an apt description of most successful building projects, from the small, to the very large.  It’s teeming with life, that pushes on towards the goal of fulfilling its contract on time and on budget.  If it doesn’t, very few can stay in business for one more day.

It’s a storm that invigorates you to succeed, or drives you to fail.  You push, you press to figure out the process and master it.    Or go home.  Donald Trump loved this process early on. It was his early training, it was what molded his outlook, it was what tested him.  His life was a storm.  He used the storm of New York building to vault his company to the top of the heap.  He used the storm while building nationwide, and worldwide to propel it even further.

This is a man whose whole life has been lived within storms.  He thrives on them, welcomes them, and uses them to achieve his goals. 

It’s clear Trump’s political career is following the same course.  Whoever tries to engulf him within a storm loses.  The left has been calling on storm after storm, and they are still losing.  They don’t get it yet.  Return to that list of accomplishments cited earlier.  He is implementing his promises one at a time, the whole time the left conjures multiple deluges, dark ones, like the witches in Shakespeare’s Macbeth.

It’s amazing to watch.

A lot of negativity from the right is spilling over about what is happening with the Mueller Investigation right now.  Hannity, Rush, Tucker, even a #nevertrumper or two, literally everyone on the right is outraged, and with a lot of good reason. 

Sean Hannity et al, let me give you a hint:  “Let not your heart not be troubled.”

All the really bad stuff that is happening is happening to those who are conjuring the storm onto Trump, and not so much the other way.   This guy Strzok?   He has destroyed himself, his credibility, and his career.  Along with his FBI honeypot.  It appears that Andrew Weissman has done the same thing.  Look at James Comey.  He’s losing.  Andrew McCabe is as well.  The FBI will be purged. The Clintons have lost their power.  They are no more than a corrupt, ugly footnote to history.  No power, with little future.  Trump has some scrapes, he doesn’t mind.

If Mueller is actually doing his worst deed ever, trying to process crime Donald Trump to death over the dumbest political narrative ever, a.k.a. Russia, Russia, Russia, he will be destroyed.  I am not convinced that’s what he’s actually doing, In spite of all the thunder and lightning.  But if he does, he will destroy himself as the others have done.  It will simply not fly.

Now, I don’t want to make Trump into a figure of worship.  I don’t.  This is a wild ride, and not everything is pretty, and not everything is wonderful.  But it is amazing how far we’ve come in less than a year.  For all the caterwauling, it’s been incredible. Not to mention, Trump is very funny, and he has an unusual gift of genius that goes well beyond his life as a builder. I don’t know where this will end, but I’m proud to have joined the Trump train early, and proud to fight with him. 

Every.  Day.

So far, he is the master of the storm.  I anticipate nothing less in the next years.

A Time for War: The Cold Civil War Continues…and Trump Is Winning


Our economic growth is over 3%.  After nearly a decade, our economy is clearly coming out of the doldrums, and the U.S. population is becoming optimistic about its future.

Trump is remaking the judiciary, an extraordinary achievement.

Illegal immigration is down, eventually to be controlled.  A real border for a real country.

The military is strong, confident, and doing its job.  ISIS and radical Islam are genuinely being defeated.

Our alliances overseas are strengthening, and our leadership is successfully realigning friends from the Obama-Clinton years of destruction.  Other countries respect and fear us once again.

America is becoming great again.

Domestically, embittered adversaries on the left are melting down, in multiple ways.  Their elites are being shown as irrational, immoral, hypocritical, rudderless, and foolish in an overwhelming wave of self-induced negativity.  Their illusion of cultural greatness is falling apart, from Hollywood to the media to the educrats to the Democratic Party itself.  They are failing miserably.

The Clinton crime family is going under for the third time, dragging others with it.

Yes, it’s wonderful to watch the left disintegrate, but don’t forget: they still own the education system and have won too many hearts and minds to their own party.  It ain’t over ’til it’s over.  We may be winning, but we haven’t won yet.

So let’s talk about really winning this thing.  In order to really win, there are a few things we need to remember.  And never forget: the things we must remember are those qualities that made us a great nation.  Those unique strengths that define humanity at its best, corporately and individually.  They include the freedoms to excel and improve.

We are between the great holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas, and as the song says, it’s the most wonderful time of the year.  It’s a time to recall and reflect on what are the best things this life has to offer.

Reagan said this in 1986:

Perhaps no custom reveals our character as a nation so clearly as our celebration of Thanksgiving Day. Rooted deeply in our Judeo-Christian heritage, the practice of offering thanksgiving underscores our unshakable belief in God as the foundation of our nation and our firm reliance upon Him from Whom all blessings flow.

Succinct.  And this quote was taken in the middle of the Cold War, when the winner was in doubt.  Reagan was reminding us of how to be thankful in the midst of a time of great strife and difficulty.  He wanted us to know that “winning” was not enough.  We needed to know that winning was tied up with high character and purpose, for our nation and for each of us as individuals.

Giving thanks for what we have and have been given.  To God.  With our families and friends.  Hoping, by faith, to achieve higher character.

Yes, we are in a cold civil war.  We cannot truly win that war if we devolve.  We cannot win that war if we become like those we have been fighting.  Stooping to their level will not fly.  We cannot become like the Jacobins of the left.  That is a construct we have to follow.  We cannot allow hate or bitterness to succeed in gaining a foothold in us.

We can hate what they’ve done without hating them personally.  We can be confident when we come against hate, but we must not let ourselves take on the character of those we have fought so hard against.

George Washington said the following about division:

The alternate domination of one faction over another, sharpened by the spirit of revenge natural to party dissension, which in different ages and countries has perpetrated the most horrid enormities, is itself a frightful despotism. But this leads at length to a more formal and permanent despotism.

As much as we need to despise what the left has done and ofttimes has stood for, we cannot let ourselves become despots.  We can’t exact revenge on individuals or groups that have wished us ill or even have done wrong things to us.  Instead, we need to remember the importance of forgiveness.  And please, I am not confusing forgiveness with approval, consent, or seeking justice for criminality.  We need to look forward to convincing as many as possible on the left to move toward a reconciliation and a reunification.  Gloating, dominating, excluding, and belittling those who would move toward betterment should not be done.

Yep, that may be a pipe dream with many we know and see on the left, but it has been done before.  And yes, it will take a long time.

The Civil War was not yet over when Lincoln said it this way:

With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

Once again, the calling onward of a citizenry to high character and not revenge.

Without this we cannot become great again.  Make America Great Again.  What an amazing slogan.  It’s simple and powerful, and it calls us upward to better things.  Those things are not simply material, meaning rising economic fortune; they’re the deep improvement of virtue that brings on and fulfills a strong economic well-being.  This would be virtue in the classic sense, in its finest and fullest sense.

No, perfection isn’t possible, so get that out of mind.  Betterment, however, is.  We cannot confuse virtue with church lady-like pronouncements, nor take a sourpuss attitude of clucking at things we deem unclean.  Humor, building families, building businesses, building friendships and communities.  So much to do, so little time.

“Character is destiny” is a saying attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.  This is a truth that should be remembered, a truth once upon a time embedded in our culture, a truth we must renew.  With malice toward none, with charity for all.

How do we develop character?  To what do we aspire?  I’ll leave it to the real expert, who was asked what the most important things are.  He replied that virtually everything else hung on us following these two instructions freely:

“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment. 

 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The faith to build character for now and for future generations.

The way to truly make America great again.

Yep, that may be a pipe dream with many we know and see on the left, but it has been done before.  And yes, it will take a long time.

The Civil War was not yet over when Lincoln said it this way:

With malice toward none, with charity for all, with firmness in the right as God gives us to see the right, let us strive on to finish the work we are in, to bind up the nation’s wounds, to care for him who shall have borne the battle and for his widow and his orphan, to do all which may achieve and cherish a just and lasting peace among ourselves and with all nations.

Once again, the calling onward of a citizenry to high character and not revenge.

Without this we cannot become great again.  Make America Great Again.  What an amazing slogan.  It’s simple and powerful, and it calls us upward to better things.  Those things are not simply material, meaning rising economic fortune; they’re the deep improvement of virtue that brings on and fulfills a strong economic well-being.  This would be virtue in the classic sense, in its finest and fullest sense.

No, perfection isn’t possible, so get that out of mind.  Betterment, however, is.  We cannot confuse virtue with church lady-like pronouncements, nor take a sourpuss attitude of clucking at things we deem unclean.  Humor, building families, building businesses, building friendships and communities.  So much to do, so little time.

“Character is destiny” is a saying attributed to the Greek philosopher Heraclitus.  This is a truth that should be remembered, a truth once upon a time embedded in our culture, a truth we must renew.  With malice toward none, with charity for all.

How do we develop character?  To what do we aspire?  I’ll leave it to the real expert, who was asked what the most important things are.  He replied that virtually everything else hung on us following these two instructions freely:

“‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and great commandment. 

 And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

The faith to build character for now and for future generations.

The way to truly make America great again.

Hillary: Corrupt, Clueless, Coddled


It’s really her biggest problem.  She’s been coddled because of her party affiliation.  She’s been coddled by a media that refused to report her ugly side.  She’s been coddled by a base that has been fooled repeatedly.  She’s convinced them she’s highly moral, highly intelligent, highly principled, and somehow represents all women, minorities, and the average American.  

Nothing could be further from the truth.  She’s nothing but a propped-up caricature, propped by that Democratic privilege.  Because of that privilege, the average left-leaning voter knows little or nothing about what a reprobate she is.

So far.

I do think she’s about to be taken down, and thrown under the bus.  The Democratic Party and the media will have no choice in the next year or so to come to that realization.  But I digress.

The specifics:

A big issue is her part in enabling Bill with his sexual predations.  She not only looked the other way as he hit on anything with a skirt, she led the charge against all the women whom he used and abused.  She led the bimbo eruptions effort, destroying the women as being sluts or nuts while her husband ran rampant.  She led the media to defend the indefensible.   And try as they might to defend the Clintons now, in the new race to virtue signal, the media is finally admitting their mistake.

Her ill temper and horrifying personality behind the mask of being nice has been chronicled by one of her major Secret Service defenders and others.  She was censured long ago for being dishonest and mean spirited by her own chairman during the Watergate hearings long ago.   Her money lust and greed were there to see in her cattle futures gains.  Whitewater was a manifestation of this character flaw, gaining personally because of political connections.  Fast forward and you have the attempted heist of White House belongings.  You have them dangling the bait of their political influence to gain money from the second they left the White House.   

With the silence of the media, the Clintons amassed a fortune through speeches, books, and donations.  The threat of their power and the cloak of their privilege kept them riding high.  The final coup de gras was their Clinton Foundation.  That they took donations for Haiti that never got to the recipients was criminal.  That they got cover from the Bush family and the media was atrocious.  I think this was the signal that corrupted the GOP so deeply.  They saw they could get a piece as well.

Clinton Democratic Privilege.  It led to more and more influence peddling.  The hundreds of millions of dollars donated to their foundation and campaigns from illicit people simply continued.  Everyone turned a blind eye to the obvious quid pro quos, corruption, and aggrandizement of power.

Uranium One, with the direct huge speaking fee to Bill, and the well over one hundred million dollars sent to the Foundation by those who benefited from this transaction was despicable.  The irony of all this money coming from rewarding the dratted Russians, hiding behind “the Russian reset,” can’t help but be one of the best cons ever.   All ignored by the media and the Democratic Party.  As Sean Hannity has poignantly asked, who anywhere would think it was a good idea to sell control of 20% of our Uranium to a foreign adversary?  And of all people, to the Russians.

Greed, corruption, and as said before, it’s the Mother of All Scandals.  I’m betting it takes them down.  The hint to follow is that Mueller’s indictment of Manafort was going after the Podestas, and not Trump.

There’s so much more to say about her corruption.  The Democratic Party’s willingness to spy on others began with her successfully pilfering (illegally) secret FBI files long ago (“a bureaucratic snafu”).  Paying for the Russian Dossier, her rigging the Democratic Party primaries, and so much more of despicable her.

Moving from her greed to her ineptness is easy, because she has never accomplished anything good.  An empty suit if there ever were one.  Once again, ineptness hidden because of her Democratic Privilege. 

Examples:  Her decision to help Bill beat the sexual predator rap with Monica.  It continued with her carpet bagging win of her Senate seat, in itself just a bit tainted.  But it was the fact that she did nothing of consequence with that seat, had no signature legislation, and simply used her seat as a celebrity stepping stone to the power she really wanted: the first woman President.  Unfortunately for her, in the first run for the prize, she lost to someone who out-demagogued her, and out-flanked her in leftist identity politics.  As Bill Clinton so inartfully put it, she lost to a guy who should have been fetching their coffee.

Her experience as Secretary of State, as Trump so deftly noted, was totally without success.  Carly Fiorina boiled it down as follows: “Like Hillary Clinton, I too have traveled hundreds of thousands of miles around the globe.  But unlike Hillary Clinton, I know that flying is an activity, not an accomplishment.” Hillary successfully helped destroy Iraq by watching as Obama pulled the troops early, and set the Arab world on fire with her horrific policies.  She almost destroyed Egypt by installing and giving billions to head that country with a Muslim Brotherhood leader.  They watched ISIS metastasize, sometimes helping.  Their failure at pulling out the Benghazi ambassador months earlier, as all other major countries did, was lethal.  Their non-response to Ambassador Stephens’s pleas for better security, was unprecedentedly stupid, despicable, and deadly.  Instead of owning up to it, she spread the lie that a video was at fault.  Lying to the nation and the victim families’ faces.

Her entire reign was a failure.  One after another.

Her campaign failure: Russia obviously suggesting she not campaign in the industrial Midwest.

“Now having said all this, why aren’t I up fifty points you might ask?” was her best imitation of the Wicked Witch of the West.   

Add that to her “deplorables” gaffe, and her disgusting inability to speak to her supporters the night of her election, and the mask should have come off for her true believer followers.

Her arrogance pushing the idea that everyone else was at fault for her loss is unprecedented in American politics.  Her egocentric fail at being unwilling to let it go was capped by Trump’s tweet this week.  He’s right, she’s good for the GOP.  Heck, she’s a huge problem for the Democratic Party.  A guest who stayed too long, drank too much, and wouldn’t leave.

The next shoes are going to drop.  And drop and drop and drop.

The Mother of All Scandals


And therein lies her biggest problem.  She’s not really asking the question as she should be, she’s not reflecting.  Instead, she’s wagging a finger and blaming everyone else for her loss.

Back to the Clintons fooling the left.  Let’s start counting the ways.  She was not just smart, she was the smartest woman ever.  She was fully competent and capable in everything.  She fought bravely for all the right issues.  She was more qualified to be President than anyone who preceded her.  She was, and is, the bright moral compass pointing the way forward to the left (who they believe should be all of us).  She was the Yin to her husband’s Yang.  They were the best power couple ever, a beacon of truth shining in the darkness.

Except they weren’t.  She has proved that over time, and her book tour is confirming it.

And the left is about to melt down as she and hubby finally are revealed for who they are.  Who are they?  In a nutshell, they are the left’s version of Elmer Gantry: frauds who love adulation, and even more, love money, power, and fame.  If you think the left melted down when Trump won, wait until they have the scales fall from their eyes as this new scandal engulfs her and her party. 

Because this is the mother of all scandals.

Trump has used his branding genius on this scandal already.  He called it this generation’s Watergate.  Which has to grate on the left, the media has once again been duly trolled.  After all, nothing was worse than Richard Nixon.  Ever.  Now, most have heard the media scoundrels use the term dog-whistle.  It’s overused, and abused on the left, a smirk, a knowing wink and they all come alive, cackling when they use it.  Well, Trump just whistled for them.  “Watergate, Modern Age.”

Watergate.  The Holy Grail of the left’s media triumph.

But he has done more than just dog-whistle, or throw the media a tweet to drive them crazy.  He’s been slowly amassing information and evidence about the mother of all scandals.  Tom Clancy at his best could not have written a more exciting thriller.  Which is what we are watching. 

I have a burning question.  What did the President (Trump) know, and when did he know it?  Because if there has ever been a more exquisite time to bear down and stay on this scandal, it’s now.  My take:  He has slowly amassed a giant dossier of evidence, but this one isn’t fake, it’s very real.  He announced it.  Listen to the dog-whistle.

“Watergate, Modern Age.”

Trump has many sides, and one of them is his rough and tumble, shoot from the hip side.  Say things that shouldn’t be said, tweet at four in the morning to drive his enemies crazy.  Keep moving, keep pressing, never back down.  Never surrender to political correctness.  Show them shiny objects as distraction, but stay the course.

Another side, seldom paid attention to, is his ability to craft a long-term strategy.  Couple that with his highly developed instincts about how to implement that strategy, and you have one formidable opponent on your hands.  One who loves to win.  One who formulates a goal, and pursues it relentlessly. 

Ask his GOP primary opponents.  Ask Hillary.  On second thought, don’t, because she will never know what happened to her, because she never wanted to know what was happening.  She was too busy luxuriating in her ill-gotten gains.  While she was breaking out rare champagne on her campaign plane, Trump was busy visiting the battleground states.  While she celebrated prematurely, he was in Grand Rapids, Michigan in the early morning of November 8, with a final push to eke out that state’s electoral votes.

It’s this side of Trump that we are witnessing.

The left’s being fooled began a long time ago, but the country began to see it when they had a massive hissy fit about Hillary losing.  Safe spaces and therapy were all they had to comfort them.  And “resisting.”  We all have witnessed their psychosis for the better part of a year now.  One ugly toddler tantrum after another.  And it’s not just their leaders and media stooges. 

As a nation we have just endured, and will continue to endure the Weinstein scandal, and have seen the squalid underbelly of the left’s cultural greats.  The collusion to hide just how ugly, hypocritical, and immoral the culture of the left, as embodied by Hollywood, is out there for the entire country to see.  This is who the left is.   Ugly, hypocritical, greedy, and without conscience.

And on the left they’re shocked, shocked to see just how squalid they all are.  All the actors and actresses who benefited from their silence suddenly are not so silent.  So brave, all these years later.  But they put up with everything they preen on about hating, and put up with it for decades while making money and having fame.  The left has been in CYA mode for weeks now over this scandal, trying so hard to get people to look elsewhere, anywhere but linking it to one of the Democratic Party’s most faithful fundraisers and bundlers.  He was the Clinton’s good friend.  This was a big wound to the left, and will fester.

The big shoe dropped when Trump branded the Uranium One scandal in his impromptu press conference.  It had to be covered.  And Hillary Clinton has now responded.  With denials.  Sarah Huckabee Sanders has doubled down, saying:

“I think that this further proves if there was anyone that was colluding with the Russians to influence the election look no further than the Clintons and the DNC. Hypocrisy at the highest level and a new low in politics. Everything the Clinton campaign and DNC were falsely accusing the president of doing the past year they were doing it themselves.” 

And now the FBI witness has been cleared to speak to Congress.

And now there are calls for new congressional investigations.  And calls for special counsels to investigate the Uranium One deal.

And the Republicans have grown a spine, joining in these calls.  The theory of evolution is proven.  Jellyfish evolve.

As the weekend began Friday night, the reaction came: word was leaked that a charge has been referred to a grand jury by Special Counsel Mueller, with an indictment and arrest expected as early as today. It may be a choreographed diversion, providing an excuse for Hillary’s media allies to avert their gaze from unfolding trap. Or, reports that Mueller is pursuing the Podesta Group may indicate another target.  No less a critic of Mueller than Trey Gowdy cautions us against jumping to conclusions:

“I would encourage my Republican friends, give the guy a chance to do his job. The result will be known by the facts covered by what he uncovers,” he said. “The personalities involved are much less important to me than the underlying facts. I would say give the guy a chance to do his job.”

All of Trump’s ducks are lining up.  Trump looks happy when he talks, and has for many weeks.  He is in control.  He sees the long game, and knows he is holding all the cards.

It appears he has entrapped them all in this scandal called Uranium One.   The FBI and the Deep-State.  James Comey.  Eric Holder.  Loretta Lynch.  The Clintons.  Barrack Obama.  The leftist news media.  Real collusion, with a real crime.

And it really is the mother of all scandals.  Allowing the sale of 20% of US uranium for money.  The biggest breach in national security since the Rosenbergs gave away the atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.

There is an answer to Hillary’s question, “What Happened?”

As a nation we have just endured, and will continue to endure the Weinstein scandal, and have seen the squalid underbelly of the left’s cultural greats.  The collusion to hide just how ugly, hypocritical, and immoral the culture of the left, as embodied by Hollywood, is out there for the entire country to see.  This is who the left is.   Ugly, hypocritical, greedy, and without conscience.

And on the left they’re shocked, shocked to see just how squalid they all are.  All the actors and actresses who benefited from their silence suddenly are not so silent.  So brave, all these years later.  But they put up with everything they preen on about hating, and put up with it for decades while making money and having fame.  The left has been in CYA mode for weeks now over this scandal, trying so hard to get people to look elsewhere, anywhere but linking it to one of the Democratic Party’s most faithful fundraisers and bundlers.  He was the Clinton’s good friend.  This was a big wound to the left, and will fester.

The big shoe dropped when Trump branded the Uranium One scandal in his impromptu press conference.  It had to be covered.  And Hillary Clinton has now responded.  With denials.  Sarah Huckabee Sanders has doubled down, saying:

“I think that this further proves if there was anyone that was colluding with the Russians to influence the election look no further than the Clintons and the DNC. Hypocrisy at the highest level and a new low in politics. Everything the Clinton campaign and DNC were falsely accusing the president of doing the past year they were doing it themselves.” 

And now the FBI witness has been cleared to speak to Congress.

And now there are calls for new congressional investigations.  And calls for special counsels to investigate the Uranium One deal.

And the Republicans have grown a spine, joining in these calls.  The theory of evolution is proven.  Jellyfish evolve.

As the weekend began Friday night, the reaction came: word was leaked that a charge has been referred to a grand jury by Special Counsel Mueller, with an indictment and arrest expected as early as today. It may be a choreographed diversion, providing an excuse for Hillary’s media allies to avert their gaze from unfolding trap. Or, reports that Mueller is pursuing the Podesta Group may indicate another target.  No less a critic of Mueller than Trey Gowdy cautions us against jumping to conclusions:

“I would encourage my Republican friends, give the guy a chance to do his job. The result will be known by the facts covered by what he uncovers,” he said. “The personalities involved are much less important to me than the underlying facts. I would say give the guy a chance to do his job.”

All of Trump’s ducks are lining up.  Trump looks happy when he talks, and has for many weeks.  He is in control.  He sees the long game, and knows he is holding all the cards.

It appears he has entrapped them all in this scandal called Uranium One.   The FBI and the Deep-State.  James Comey.  Eric Holder.  Loretta Lynch.  The Clintons.  Barrack Obama.  The leftist news media.  Real collusion, with a real crime.

And it really is the mother of all scandals.  Allowing the sale of 20% of US uranium for money.  The biggest breach in national security since the Rosenbergs gave away the atomic bomb secrets to the Soviet Union.
