Sebastian Telfair: Ex-NBA player arrested in car filled with loaded guns, police say

Former Big Apple basketball sensation Sebastian Telfair was busted early Sunday in Brooklyn with a bulletproof vest and a small arsenal inside his truck, police sources said.

The 32-year-old had been with another man, identified as Jami Thomas, 18, when cops pulled him over in Bed-Stuy around 2:50 a.m. and uncovered the weapons cache during a routine traffic stop, according to authorities.

All in all, officers found three loaded pistols, a gas-operated submachine gun, extended magazines, ammunition and the ballistic vest.

The pair had been driving in a Ford F-150 pickup truck without the headlights on, prompting officers to stop them, sources said.

After being pulled over, cops smelled marijuana and eventually spotted a burning joint inside the truck. They then asked Telfair and Thomas to step out of the vehicle and placed them under arrest.

Upon searching the truck, sources said officers discovered two bags of pot and the pair’s gun collection — which included a SIG MPX Pistol, a Ruger LC9s, and a Springfield Armory XD9 Mod 2 Pistol.

Telfair, who was driving, was later charged with unlawful possession of a ballistic vest, unlawful possession of ammunition magazine, possession of a controlled substance, aggravated unlicensed operator of a motor vehicle and a motor vehicle equipment violation.

Thomas was also slapped with controlled substance and gun possession-related charges, as well.

The two men were arraigned in Brooklyn Criminal Court on Sunday night and held on bond.

Trump is Winning for America

Vice President Mike Pence said nothing touches and encourages himself and President Trump more than hearing Americans say they are praying for them. Folks, given president Trump’s superhuman focus on winning for America while enduring unprecedented vitriolic attacks from all sides, I’d say our prayers are working.

After months on the road working to elect conservatives in special elections, I’m back home. I ran into my favorite bank teller, a middle-aged Hispanic woman. “Oh Mr Marcus, it is so good to see you.” Folks, I was taken aback as she began expressing her extremely heartfelt thanks for my working to elect Trump and the work I do around the country. Frankly, I was stunned by how much Trump winning meant to her. Fake news media will never understand the phenomenal connection Trump has with a majority of the American people. They (We the People) get it. They know Obama was destroying our country. They know Trump is committed to bringing us back from the edge of destruction and they are extremely excited and grateful. None of fake news media’s 24/7 attempts to politically assassinate Trump is working — quite the opposite.

Who could have imagined that Trump’s Washington DC inexperience would be one of his greatest strengths? Trump governs free of pro-politician political correctness. A gifted businessman, Trump is instinctively using his talent; making deals good for America while getting us out of deals bad for America. Case in point: Trump pulled us out of the disastrous Paris climate deal.

Meanwhile, Washington, DC establishment elites are outraged, “That’s not how we do things in this town. Trump can’t say that! Trump can’t do that! How dare Trump speak directly to the American people via tweets!”

I’ve heard talking heads supposedly on our side say they wish Trump would conform more to traditional presidential behavior. I say Trump is doing just fine being 100% Trump. He has made remarkable positive changes in 100 days that would have taken other Republicans 10 years. Whenever Republicans win elections, they are advised to move slowly and be careful not to anger leftists too much to avoid fake news media backlash.

America’s number one radio personality, Rush Limbaugh, said, “If what you do relies on talent, you will never be your best doing it someone else’s way.” Based on his proven talent, I trust Trump to govern his way as long as he functions according to our Constitution. I could not care less that Washington insiders view him as a bull in their Washington DC china store. Break more stuff Mr. President. Please break more stuff.

Leftists worldwide are so obsessed with removing Trump from office and blocking his agenda, they appear to have suspended interest in all else.

The Left was brutally tough on Sarah Palin; everything out of her mouth was spun to brand her an idiot. But compared to how the Left is relentlessly going after Trump, Palin was treated with kid gloves.

Though it’s underreported, we are winning in unprecedented ways under President Trump.

Trump appointing Betsy DeVos as Secretary of Education was huge for America, a serious blow to leftists’ government indoctrination of our kids. Though high-tech bludgeoned by leftists, DeVos strongly advocates restoring parent’s rights.

Along with the confirmation of conservative Neil Gorsuch on the Supreme Court, Trump just nominated 11 new conservative federal judges. These are awesome selections with long-term positive effects.

Trump has rolled back a ton of Obama’s overreaching stupid job-killing and economy-dragging regulations.

Keeping his campaign promises and rolling back Obama’s mess, Trump has signed a remarkable list of executive orders.

During his Infrastructure speech at the Department of Transportation, Trump expressed his desire to cut absurd regulations. Trump said, “It is time at last to put America first. No longer can we allow these rules and regulations to tie down our economy, chain up our prosperity and sap our great American spirit.” Wow, now that’s what I am talkin’ about, folks — ignore fake news media lies. We are winning under Trump.

Displaying arrogant wickedness, Democrats are boldly lying to the American people, falsely accusing Trump of high crimes and misdemeanors. They have taken their first legislative steps to remove Trump from office by drafting articles of impeachment.

Leftist law professor Marjorie Cohn absurdly said Trump pulling us out of the Paris climate deal is an impeachable offense. These people on the left are deranged. Still, they must be taken seriously and blocked. If allowed, Democrats and fake news media will impeach our president based totally on lies.

I am confident we who love America will remain firmly entrenched in our support for our president. Thanks to God and Trump’s talent, we are winning.

WELCOME HOME Melania and Barron Trump move into White House

The first family has officially moved into the White House.

First lady Melania Trump arrived at the executive mansion Sunday evening alongside her husband, President Donald Trump and the couple’s 11-year-old son, Barron.

The trio arrived on Marine One, which landed on the south lawn of the White House as the sun set behind the Washington Monument.

Barron, who will attend St. Andrew’s Episcopal School in Maryland this fall, wore a gray t-shirt with the words ” The Expert” inscribed on it in blue letters.

Melania Trump’s parents, Viktor and Amalija Knav, also arrived on Marine One with the first family. The Knavs were living with their daughter and grandson in Trump Tower.

At one point, Barron Trump turned back to see if his grandparents were behind him.As the president entered into the White House he waved, and smiled towards the cameras.

ICE KINGS Penguins win second consecutive Stanley Cup

The Pittsburgh Penguins accomplished a Stanley Cup feat that has not been done since the late 1990s – win back-to-back championships.

The Penguins defeated the Nashville Predators in Game 6 on Sunday, 2-0, thanks to a Patric Hornqvist goal with 1:35 in the third period. Carl Hagelin added the empty-net goal to put the game, and the title, out of reach for the Predators.

Pittsburgh won its fifth title — all of which have been clinched on the road — to tie the Wayne Gretzky-Mark Messier-era Edmonton Oilers for sixth on the all-time list. The Detroit Red Wings in 1997 and `98 were the last champion to defend their title, but the Penguins are the first to do it in the salary cap era.

“We knew it was going to be tough all year, but we just tried to keep with it,” said Sidney Crosby, who won his second Conn Smythe Trophy as postseason MVP. “We had a lot of injuries and things like that. We just kept finding ways. That was really what we did all season, all playoffs. It’s great to be able to do it.”

Nashville lost for the first time in regulation on home ice this postseason.

Colton Sissons had a goal erased by a whistle 67 seconds into the second period. The Predators went 0 of 4 with the man advantage, including 32 seconds of a 5-on-3 in the third.

Forget a golden anniversary: The Penguins will cap their 50th season with their names on the most famous silver cup in sports — again. It is also the third championship for Crosby and a handful of teammates from the 2009 title team, surpassing the two won by the Penguins teams led by current owner Mario Lemieux in the 1990s.

And it’s the second championship in 18 months for coach Mike Sullivan, who has yet to lose a playoff series since taking over after Mike Johnston was fired. Sullivan is the first American-born coach to win the Cup not once, but twice.

Matt Murray became the first goalie to win not one, but two Stanley Cups as a rookie after being a late-season call up a year ago and didn’t play enough games to get that tag removed. That’s something neither Patrick Roy, Ken Dryden or Cam Ward ever managed, but the 23-year-old Murray finished this Cup Final shutting out Nashville for the final 126:52.

The loss ended the upstart Predators’ deepest playoff run in the franchise’s 19-year history and one that became the talk of the town far beyond Music City, catfish and all.

Saudis move to ease humanitarian crisis spawned by Qatar blockade

Saudi Arabia is taking initials steps to ease the growing humanitarian crisis caused by the blockade it is leading against Qatar, in what a senior State Department official described to Fox News as “an encouraging sign.”

Because of new restrictions imposed by the blockade on both residence and travel, ‎as many as 10,000 families have been split up over demands Qatari citizens leave the neighboring countries where they had been living, with many leaving spouses and families behind.

Saudi Arabia’s King Salman is now directing his Kingdom’s Interior Ministry to address such cases of forced repatriation.

In the first of a pair of tweets posted on the state-run ‎Saudi Press Agency, the Qataris are referred to as “brotherly people.” The tweet says King Salman wants to “take care of the humanitarian cases of the Saudi-Qatari joint families.”

A second tweet provides a phone number for affected families to call and ends with the hashtag #PeopleOfQatarInHeartOfSalman.

The blockade, launched over Qatar’s alleged ties to terrorism, has brought the United States into the diplomatic fray.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson ‎called on Saudi Arabia and other Arab nations to ease the blockade, citing the humanitarian crisis.

“We are seeing shortages of food, families are being forcibly separated, and children pulled put of school. We believe these are unintended consequences, especially during the Holy Month of Ramadan, but they can be addressed immediately,” he said.

While State Department officials are encouraged by the latest steps, it appears Russia also could be getting a foothold in the crisis.

Qatar’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammad bin Abdulrahman al-Thani was in Moscow for talks on the blockade earlier Saturday.

UFO hunters spot 'weird orb' while lost in hills near Boston

Three UFO hunters snapped a photo of a mysterious object while they were lost in the Blue Hills near Boston last week, according to reports.

Ramona DiFrancesco and her friends were lost for several hours Thursday night and had to be rescued by state police, WHDH-TV reported.

DiFrancesco, 18, of Plymouth, told the station she and her friends spotted UFOs they had never seen before Thursday night.

“Well, we saw these two ships that had these like bright spotlights and then we saw this like weird orb that was like a spotlight, sort of,” she told the station.

She showed a WHDH reporter a photo of the mysterious object she said had been taken with a Nikon camera.

They got lost on Buck Hill, The Boston Globe reported.

“Our phones were dying,” the paper quoted DiFrancesco as saying. “We didn’t have any flashlights. We were a little unprepared.”

A state police helicopter spotted them and officers led them down a trail on foot.

They were not hurt.

New York play's Trump-killing scene forces hand of major companies

Delta Air Lines and Bank of America became the first companies to announce that they are pulling their sponsorship of a Manhattan-based theater company’s portrayal of Julius Caesar as a Donald Trump look-alike in a business suit who gets stabbed to death on stage.

Delta and Bank of America both announced their intentions on Sunday.

“No matter what your political stance may be, the graphic staging of Julius Caesar at this summer’s Free Shakespeare in the Park does not reflect Delta Air Lines’ values,” the company’s statement said. “Their artistic and creative direction crossed the line on the standards of good taste.”

Bank of America added it was withdrawing funding for the production.

“The Public Theater chose to present Julius Caesar in such a way that was intended to provoke and offend,” the bank said in a tweet. “Had this intention been made known to us, we would have decided not to sponsor it.”

Performances at Central Park’s Delacorte Theater began in late May, just days before comedian Kathy Griffin was condemned for posing for a photograph with a bloodied rendering of Trump’s head.

Oskar Eustis, the Public Theater’s artistic director who also directed the play, said earlier in a statement that “anyone seeing our production of ‘Julius Caesar’ will realize it in no way advocates violence towards anyone.”

“Julius Caesar” tells a fictionalized story of a powerful, popular Roman leader who is assassinated by senators who fear he is becoming a tyrant. It is set in ancient Rome, but many productions have costumed the characters in modern dress to give it a present-day connection.

The production runs through June 18.

Benghazi mastermind's FBI statements should be dismissed, lawyers say

As Washington continues its investigation into Abu Khattala – the former leader of the Ansar al-Sharia militia, which waged the 2012 attacks in Benghazi, Libya – his defense lawyers are alleging that U.S authorities inappropriately denied him his right to an attorney.

They contend his initial FBI statements should be dismissed as “meaningless” as his capture and detention were “coercive,” according to the Washington Post.

Prosecutors argue that Khattala never definitively requested legal representation and, according to the Washington Post, “implicated himself as a conspirator when he cooperated” with the interrogation process in addition to signing waivers surrendering his lawyer rights.

However, Khattala’s counsel claims that such waivers are meaningless and they are now accusing the U.S government of having explicitly crafted his capture and interrogation around being able to flout legal challenges, which included such actions as having the suspect shackled, masked and donning sound-cutting headphones during the boat ride, being interrogated by a High-Value Detainee Interrogation Group of military, intelligence and law enforcement officials for three days and then handed over to a second FBI team to collect evidence for civilian court purposes.

He was reportedly masked for all movements outside his cell and, at least in the initial stages of the interrogation, was moved at least every two hours with lights kept on the entire time.

However, Khattala also is believed to have been read and shown his Geneva Convention rights prior to questioning, and issued a mattress, prayer rug, writing materials and later a watch so he was aware of his prayer times.

In October 2014, Khattala pleaded not guilty in a brief court appearance to charges related to the 2012 attacks, some of which could carry a death sentence – including one count of murder of an internationally protected person and two counts of maliciously damaging and destroying U.S. property by means of fire and an explosive causing death.

The 6-foot auto mechanic, held for a decade as a political prisoner by ousted dictator Muammar Qaddafi, was captured four months earlier in a raid by U.S special operations forces and remains the only person charged by the U.S for involvement in the attacks. Khattala was then brought to the United States over a 13-day period crossing the Atlantic Ocean aboard the USS New York.

He is currently being held in the Alexandria, Va., city jail and his trial is slated to begin in September. Nonetheless, Khattala’s case also may enter unchartered territory and signal the first time a federal judge “rules on the constitutionality of interrogation practices developed for terrorism suspects captured overseas,” the Washington Post reports.

The attack, which he is suspected of orchestrating, claimed the lives of four Americans, including Ambassador Chris Stevens.

Late last month, Khattala’s former group – Ansar al-Sharia – announced that it has dissolved, with most of its leadership being eliminated while fighting the Libya National Army. Majority of the group’s fighters are believed to have defected to ISIS in recent years.

The embattled country’s leadership remains crippled by two rival parliaments and three governments, with the magnitude of the fighting for control between the UN-supported Government of National Accord (GNA) in Tripoli and the Libyan National Army.

Furthermore, the wrongful death suit brought against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton by the parents of two Americans — Sean Smith and Tyrone Woods — murdered in the 2012 attacks was dismissed late last month. Federal judge Amy Berman ruled that Clinton was acting in her official capacity when using her private email server, thus the U.S government should have been named the defendant, and that the parents should have taken their accusations to the State Department before initiating legal action.

Jennifer Lawrence OK after plane reportedly makes emergency landing

Academy Award-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence reportedly suffered a scare Saturday when her private plane was forced to make an emergency landing after suffering engine failure.

According to E! News, Lawrence was flying from Louisville, Ky., when the plane suffered a double-engine failure and was forced to land in Buffalo, N.Y. A rep for Lawrence confirmed that the “Hunger Games” star was uninjured in the incident.

The website reported that Lawrence, a Louisville native, had been visiting family.

A spokeswoman for the Niagara Frontier Transportation Authority (NFTA) told the Buffalo News that a Beechcraft 400 Beechjet was diverted to the airport Saturday afternoon. The spokeswoman said that two passengers and crew members were on board the plane, but did not say that Lawrence was among them.

Officials said the plane was heading for Teterboro Airport in New Jersey.

ABC 'BACHELOR' Suspends Production for 'Allegations of Misconduct' on Set…

The fourth season of the ‘Bachelor’ spinoff was being filmed for a summer air date.

ABC has halted filming on the upcoming new season of Bachelor in Paradise.

“We have become aware of allegations of misconduct on the set of Bachelor in Paradise in Mexico,” Warner Bros. said Sunday in a statement. “We have suspended production and we are conducting a thorough investigation of these allegations. Once the investigation is complete, we will take appropriate responsive action.”

The fourth season of the ABC reality series had recently begun filming and is slated to premiere Aug. 8.

The summer series reunites former castoffs of The Bachelor and The Bachelorette at a resort in Sayulita, Mexico, in hopes they find love with other stars of the franchise. ABC had announced the first round of the Bachelor in Paradise cast last week. The 16 men and women who had begun filming included two runner-ups from previous seasons, two returning Bachelor in Paradise stars and four villains, including Corinne Olympios from Nick Viall’s season of The Bachelor and DeMario Jackson, a recent castoff of Rachel Lindsay’s The Bachelorette.

Blogger Reality Steve (Steve Carbone) posted a photo of many of the show’s stars who were snapped by a fan at the airport in Puerto Vallarta, saying the cast was only being told that they’re being flown to Houston.

Carbone, who has long posted spoilers on the show, said the incident in question allegedly involves Olympios and Jackson. Neither were seen in the photo.

Though the initial cast list has been announced, more familiar franchise faces were set to join the Chris Harrison-hosted spinoff and would be announced at a later date. The cast of BIP shuffles each week, with a handful of contestants joining the dating competition throughout to shake up existing and form new relationships. Last year’s cycle ended with three engagements, though only one couple (Carly Waddell and Evan Bass) is still set to walk down the aisle.

On June 3, Bachelor creator Mike Fleiss had announced that filming on the season had begun by posting a picture of Harrison on set in Mexico, along with a photo of the show’s resident bartender, Jorge.

The Bachelorette, which is currently airing, returns next week and won’t be new Monday due to the ongoing NBA Finals.
