Greg Gutfeld reacted to recent developments following President Trump’s claim that President Obama wiretapped his namesake tower.

Gutfeld said that if House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes’ (R-Calif.) contention about the allegations is true, Trump will at least be “half right” in this case.

Nunes said last week that Trump associates were mentioned in incidental collection records from U.S. intelligence agencies.

While Gutfeld noted there is little to back up Trump’s claim that Obama himself conducted a direct wiretap on Trump Tower, the alleged unmasking of Trump-associated civilians’ names gives some credence to the president’s concerns.

“Maybe Trump wasn’t totally wrong after all. Maybe he was just half wrong, which makes him half right– which among politicians makes him a genius,” Gutfeld said on “The Greg Gutfeld Show.”

He criticized Nunes’ counterpart, Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), who claimed Nunes could be a “surrogate” of Trump for speaking about the developments without consulting him.

“If these leaks were of Obama’s team, the media would suffer from outrage-diarrhea,” Gutfeld said. “[Nunes’ statement] doesn’t vindicate Trump, but it does not-not vindicate him.”

Comparing Schiff to Tom Hanks’ “Woody” from “Toy Story”, Gutfeld said that even when Trump is losing, he ends up winning “because the nuttiness of his enemies makes him right by comparison.”
