President Trump on Friday recommended a book about a man who was “persecuted by the Obama administration” as he tried to pursue legal methods of becoming an American.

“Green Card Warrior” was written by Nick Adams, who also wrote in February that Trump was right to question a last-minute Obama deal with Australia to taken 1,250 unvetted refugees being held in detention in Australia.

Adams called that a “land mine” for Trump, and said the deal had “zero upside” for Trump.

Trump praised Adams’ new book in a tweet early Friday:

“Nick Adams new book, Green Card Warrior, is a must read,” Trump tweeted. “The merit-based system is the way to go. Canada, Australia!”

According to an Amazon review of the book, Adams had a TV career and an approved green card petition, but faced “sabotage and political persecution” from the Obama administration.

“This eye-opening account shows how the Obama Administration has broken new ground in its intimidation and harassment of political opponents, now using its State Department to screen and select immigrants based on their politics,” the review said.
