Controversial Breitbart editor Milo Yiannopoulos will speak at the Conservative Political Action Conference just south of Washington, D.C., next week.

Matt Schlapp, the chairman of the American Conservative Union, tweeted Saturday: “We think free speech includes hearing Milo’s important perspective.”

Yiannopoulos is often associated with the alt-right movement that has evoked the ire of the Left. He made headlines due to a social media spat last summer with comedian Leslie Jones, when he chided the “Saturday Night Live” and “Ghostbusters” actress for her poor acting and said she was “Barely literate.” Yiannopoulos’s trolling, which was followed by a torrent of racist and insulting comments directed at Jones by his supporters, led to him getting banned from Twitter.

There has been a wave of backlash against the openly gay editor, whose speaking appearance at the University of California-Berkeley earlier this month was canceled due to violent protests.

Yiannopoulos told Hollywood Reporter that he will use his keynote address to discuss his “experiences in America battling feminists, Black Lives Matter, the media, professors and the entertainment industry.”

Other speakers confirmed to appear at the big conservative event includes Vice President Mike Pence; Texas Sen. Ted Cruz; former U.K. Independence Party leader Nigel Farage; Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker; former Hewlett-Packard CEO and presidential candidate Carly Fiorina; and Michael Reagan, former President Ronald Reagan’s eldest son.
