President Trump claimed Monday morning all polls that show disapproval of the job he’s doing or his specific policies are “fake news,” and compared them to election polls that showed he’d lose to Hillary Clinton.

He also argued that people are clamoring for tougher border security despite polls showing the country is divided on the issue.

“Any negative polls are fake news, just like the CNN, ABC, NBC polls in the election. Sorry, people want border security and extreme vetting,” Trump tweeted.

Recent polls show Trump has the lowest approval rating of any new president in recent memory. Other recent polls show many Americans disagree with the tenets of his executive order on immigration, although one poll said 49 percent agreed, and 41 percent disagreed.

Trump also hit back at news reports that indicated he might be delegating too much power to underlings. A recent New York Times report alleged Trump signed an executive order putting top adviser Stephen Bannon on the National Security Council without fully reading it and understanding what he was signing.

“I call my own shots, largely based on an accumulation of data, and everyone knows it. Some FAKE NEWS media, in order to marginalize, lies!”

Justice Department demolishes the case against Trump's order

James Robart, the U.S. district judge in Washington State, offered little explanation for his decision to stop President Trump’s executive order temporarily suspending non-American entry from seven terror-plagued countries. Robart simply declared his belief that Washington State, which in its lawsuit against Trump argued that the order is both illegal and unconstitutional, would likely win the case when it is tried.

Now the government has answered Robart, and unlike the judge, Justice Department lawyers have produced a point-by-point demolition of Washington State’s claims.
