Mexican authorities are attempting to track down a gunman who reportedly attacked an official at the U.S. consulate in the western city of Guadalajara, Mexico.

The Mexican Attorney General’s Office said Saturday that the official was wounded in the attack that they said occurred Friday in Guadalajara.

The official, whose name was not disclosed, was seen in surveillance video that shows the gunman stalking the official in a parking garage, according to the Associated Press. The attack on the U.S. consular employee appeared to be a direct attempt to kill the official.
