Conservative journalist Tucker Carlson will replace Fox News star anchor Megan Kelly as she departs the network this week.

Carlson started in the 7 p.m. spot in November after longtime Fox anchor Greta Van Susteren left. His show, a mix of confrontational interviews and news coverage, has seen success in ratings.

He previously hosted shows on CNN and MSNBC, and is a former co-host of Fox’s weekend morning show “Fox and Friends.”

The Drudge Report on Thursday was first to report that Carlson would replace Kelly.

News that Megan Kelly was leaving Fox for NBC broke on Tuesday.

Daytime Fox anchor Martha MacCallum will take over the 7 p.m. slot in a program titled “The First 100 Days,” Fox said in a statement.

The public will get to see an unclassified version of the intelligence community’s report on Russian hacking by early next week, the director of national intelligence said on Thursday.

President Obama had requested that the report, which is expected to give the public an idea of what influence Russia had on the U.S. election, be released before his term ends on Jan. 20, a deadline the intelligence community seems poised to meet. Director of National Intelligence James Clapper told the Senate Armed Services Committee that the public version of the report from the CIA, FBI and National Security Agency will be released next week and briefed to Congress.
