President-elect Trump won’t be added to the presidential mural on the side of a landmark D.C. restaurant, the owners said.

“Our official position is that it is not in the budget,” Amir Abu-El-Hawa, whose family owns Mama Ayesha’s in Northwest Washington, told Washingtonian.

The mural, which was completed in 2009, depicts every president from Dwight Eisenhower to Barack Obama, surrounding founder “Mama” Ayesha Abraham.

Abu-El-Hawa, her great-nephew, said his great-aunt embodied the American dream.

“This is Mama welcoming the presidents to D.C.,” he said. “She was the American dream. For a Muslim and Arab woman immigrant from Palestine to come here on her own and build this business, is a remarkable legacy.”

The announcement from Mama Ayesha’s is the latest sign Trump is receiving a different reception as he prepares to move to the District. Last week, the Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority said Trump will not be featured on D.C. Metro’s special inauguration-themed Metro card, unlike his predecessors. WMATA said the president-elect’s team did not provide a photo in time for Metro to use.
