Prolific novelist Stephen King called President-elect Donald Trump’s proposed Cabinet picks “the worst in American history” and a “motley crew of plunder-monkeys” Saturday.

King used Trump’s favorite means of social media, damning the president-elect’s choices on Twitter.

The immediate cause of King’s outburst seems to have been so-far unconfirmed reports that Trump may ask Exxon CEO Rex Tillerson to serve as head of the State Department.

It was not the first time the master of pulp and picture lashed out at Trump, or even the first time this month. Earlier in December, King allowed that while Trump’s “mental condition” may be “open to debate…that he’s in incompetent asshat seems undeniable.”

King also attacked Trump’s tweets, which “display hysteria, aggression, paranoia, insecurity.”

“Politics aside,” King wrote, “his mental state bears close watching.”

“Oh, and grandiosity,” he added. “If you had a close relative behaving this way, you’d encourage him to see his/her doctor.”

In September, King predicted that Trump had a “real shot” at winning the presidency and that the specter of a Trump presidency “scares me more than anything else.”

In October, King unveiled his “newest horror story” on Twitter. It went like this:

“Once upon a time there was a man named Donald Trump, and he ran for president. Some people wanted him to win.”

Given King’s preoccupation with Trump and his bestselling way with words, there may be more chapters to this story yet to come.
