Outgoing Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid blamed FBI Director James Comey on Thursday night for costing Hillary Clinton the presidential election.

“I could go through a litany of things. There is no question in my mind she would have won the election without any problem if Comey had not been the Republican operative that he is,” the Democratic senator from Nevada told MSNBC host Chris Hayes.

“For example, he came out against what the attorney general had recommended, against what common sense dictates,” Reid added. “He is the reason she lost the election. Comey, he can be fat and happy in his office there for seven more years, after throwing an election to Donald Trump.”

Earlier on Thursday, former Trump campaign chairman Corey Lewandowski touted Comey’s Oct. 27 announcement as the reason Trump won. A source close to Hillary Clinton told NBC earlier this week that the Democratic nominee cited Comey as the reason she lost, despite his notice on Nov. 7 that the FBI would not be pursuing an additional investigation into her use of a private email server.

On Tuesday, Reid gave a Senate floor speech denouncing Trump’s hiring of Breitbart chairman Steve Bannon.
