Donald Trump has a reputation for not being supported by the intellectual class, but newfound support from academics may change that.

In a new letter, 150 academics or academic-types declare their support for Trump.

The text of the letter is simple: “Given our choices in the presidential election, we believe that Donald J. Trump is the candidate most likely to restore the promise of America, and we urge you to support him as we do.”

Many of the letter signers are professors, but not all. Some are authors, some have Ph.Ds.

Notable signers include former secretary of education Bill Bennet Callista and Newt Gingrich, Larry Kudlow, John Lott, Deroy Murdock and PayPal co-founder Peter Thiel.
